A post of pretty things

Getting some stuff together for the student sale and finishing some stuff up for my show. I've never been so ready to be done with a semester before, but in the end it will all have been worth it. 

Vacation? What vacation?

Ain't no rest for the wicked I suppose. 

In which I hate myself more than usual

This here is the little dragonfly for one of my pieces. For size reference, that's my pinky finger. This thing is so tiny it actually hurt. I'm insane I swear. 

So I have this beautiful texture on the outside of my big vessel. I never really thought to texture it before, but it looks really nice especially with the design.

Now if I could only get these spots to go away...

Into the tumbler this goes for a quick polish and to see where I need better clean up. Nothing left to do after that but set stones. Same with my other projects. I'm so close. 

Two down, two to go.

Still working on the polish on this guy, but otherwise it's done. Now just two more important pieces to finish. Studio gods give me strength...

Almost done. (Finally)

After many a month trying (and struggling) to finish this piece, it's almost done. A few more things to solder on and then it's nothing but clean up from there. I can't wait until its done you have no idea.

Chasing Focal Points

I'm chasing yet another piece. This time it's in silver and let me tell you, I have never been so scared of slipping up before. That's a hefty piece of silver to screw up. I know I shouldn't think like that necessarily, but I can't help it. 

Well at least I got something done...

After countless bezel making failures I did get this portion done. 

Cleaning this guy up today and getting all if my other little pieces cut out. Hopefully I'll be able to get this monster done by Monday. 

Making progress...

You know sometimes I have a hard time trying to place a time where I wasn't forging or fold  forming something. Not that I'm complaining.

Chasing Leaves

The neck piece I'm working on currently calls for a philodendron leaf. I started chasing that bad boy today and if I'm not mistaken if I work on it for a bit tonight I should be able to get it all chased and good to go. The last photo should give you an idea of the scale of the leaf itself and you have to remember that's only about a sixth of what's in the neck piece.
